In previous week a very important decision came from Supreme Court regarding UGC net cutoff criteria. Court said that all changes made by UGC in deciding edibility for NET certificate are legal. SC said court will only interrupt to in education related matter when matter will be related to legal provision, or related to irregularity of notification , advertisement. Court said as commission, UGC have rights to deiced what is the best for teaching in university, examination and research related stander.
Last year in UGC changed the eligibility criteria from declaring qualified for NET exam. now only top 15 candidates are eligible for NET certificate and candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks. all candidates who holds minimum cutoff marks are not necessary to declare qualify for net certificate. Previously it was provision that if a general category candidates will score 40,40 and 50 marks in paper 1,paper 2 and paper respectively , and aggregately score 65 % then he will be eligible for NET certificate but now only top 15 % candidates are eligible for net certificate who complete the above criteria.
So final results and final merit lists of UGC net will be prepared only for top 15% candidates who qualified NET exam .
Candidates can check there results on the official UGC website which is

    1. True agree with you..what a ridiculous way of giving NET certificate and deciding eligibility for lectureship. After restoring to such means its sad to connote that we are not even in top 200 institute of higher education in the world.if they are using such method then what is the use of conducting Ph.D entrance exam for NON- JRF/NET student when they are not able to provide employment to the existing Ph.D students...hope would say equal opportunities to all...but what is the use?? by the way wondering that those 3 hours and 15% NET Certificate holder really hold sign of good lecturer .sheer waste...ya truly... govt..is busy with scams..and we should be ready to hear such sorts of judgement ..after all supreme court is the guardian of govt...anyways..not to say I should appreciate it...have to digest it!! ....has become a place of flip-flop rules and judgments. have to take it with pinch of salt.
